Christie Vázquez began her career with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office in June of 2007. She began in the Support Services Division handling fleet maintenance, preparing purchase orders, inventory, issuance of supplies, uniforms and accessories. In addition, she assisted then Chief Deputy Derrick Cunningham with various projects which in turn she was promoted to work directly under Cunningham in the Administrative Division in December of 2011. She worked closely with Cunningham until he was elected Sheriff of Montgomery County in January 2015. Currently, she is the Administrative Assistant to Sheriff Cunningham.
She obtained a Bachelor's Degree from Auburn Montgomery in 2010. Christie has an older daughter, who is pursuing a dental career after she completed school at Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School. Christie is married to Julio Vázquez and they have two children together that are currently attending Montgomery Catholic. Her daughters are active in sports so in her spare time, she loves attending soccer and volleyball games. She also enjoys crafting and is a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
